Meta Platforms and Stripe expanded their agentic commerce partnership on September 19, 2026, opening the Muse Connector Platform to outside businesses seeking to process automated transactions.12 The expansion builds on the commercial rollout of Muse, Meta's personal artificial intelligence assistant that debuted in the United States on September 8, 2026.34

Through the connector platform, software developers can connect their external services directly to the assistant.52 Mark Zuckerberg, chief executive of Meta, announced that developers can bring their own application programming interfaces while Muse supplies the agent, the browser, and the context of user requests.15 Patrick Collison, chief executive of Stripe, confirmed the joint effort to let businesses accept agentic payments through the system.1

The underlying infrastructure relies on Stripe's Link consumer network, which counts over 300 million registered users globally.36 Muse checks out instantly using stored credentials at more than one million merchants that already accept Link.34 For merchants operating outside that network, Link issues a single-use virtual card scoped strictly to the approved purchase amount, merchant identifier, and time window.37

Human approval remains required at the point of purchase.74 The system presents transaction totals directly to the consumer within the chat interface before processing funds, preventing the AI agent from accessing underlying credit card details.34 Security controls enforce this separation through Sentinel, a network filter operating on the host machine that evaluates requests and prompts users whenever a transaction or external connection requires authorization.75

The developer program opened ten days after the initial release of Muse across mobile devices and the web.54 Meta launched the assistant with three pricing tiers: a free tier, a Power subscription priced at $20 per month, and a Maximum tier at $100 per month.4 Alexandr Wang, chief AI officer at Meta, stated that the free tier was designed to cover the needs of the vast majority of users.4

Meta initially equipped Muse with a set of first-party and pre-integrated tools.54 Those early integrations included connectors for Google Calendar, Gmail, Outlook, Spotify, OpenTable, and Plaid, alongside native access to Meta properties including Instagram, Messenger, Threads, and Facebook Marketplace.5 The new submission workflow allows external companies to join that ecosystem through a three-step review process.52

According to platform documentation published by Meta, businesses submit product descriptions through muse.ai/platform before undergoing review for functional, security, and legal requirements.2 Approved services then appear in a directory within the assistant's settings menu, where editorial staff can select specific connectors for featured placement.2 The published platform materials did not detail developer revenue shares, listing fees, or a dedicated software development kit.5

The partnership reflects an intensifying race among payments providers to anchor automated software agents to consumer wallets.6 Stripe previously announced Link integrations for xAI's Grok Bot and Spear Street Technology's Instinct assistant.36 Industry consultant Richard Crone noted that payments processors require direct consumer wallet connections to maintain transaction volume as software agents increasingly select merchants and payment methods on behalf of buyers.6
